CEFR and ACTFL Language Standards
All of our courses and curricula follow and meet the standards for the American Council of Teachers of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) and the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) set forth by the Council of Europe and Language Education.
The Council of Europe and Language Education and its CEFR Framework are the world standard for foreign language acquisition and proficiency.
- These frameworks and standards focus on these competencies for language:
- Curricula for European languages (Spanish, French, German, and Italian) are CEFR Specific and honors courses are designed specifically for students who plan to pass a European Language Proficiency Exam or the American AP exam. The European Language proficiency exams are offered in over 100 countries, including the United States and Canada. The European Language Proficiency Exams are:
- French– DELF
- Spanish- DELE
- German– TestDaF
- Italian– CILS
- English- TOEFL
