Daniel Fried, Ph.D.

Professor Daniel Fried is a native of upstate New York and has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Yale University. As the child of two third grade teachers, Dr. Fried, has had an interest in education from an early age. Dr. Fried began developing Biochemistry Literacy for Kids while in graduate school, as a way to introduce very high-level chemistry to kids of any age. Dr. Fried is now a tenured professor at Saint Peter’s University in Jersey City, where he teaches a variety of Chemistry courses including Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Organic Chemistry. He has run hundreds of classes for kids and has published academic articles on how college-level chemistry can be mastered by even elementary-aged kids. His Biochemistry Literacy program is now used by hundreds of public, private, and home school students around the world. Dr. Fried currently lives in New Jersey with his wife, also a chemistry professor, and three year old son.

Elizabeth Porter

Madame Porter is a National Board Certified French teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in French and Linguistics, a Master’s degree in Education, and a French degree called a DEUG in French as a Foreign Language (FLE). She has spent several years living in France, and has a passion for all things French! Porter attended college in Normandy, France and spent a significant amount of time in Paris, as well. She taught elementary and middle school English in Normandy, returning home in XXXX to teach French stateside. She is a passionate teacher with 18 years of teaching experience.
